Bethesda Post office Mural
I like going to the "little" post office in Bethesda. The one on Wisconsin Avenue dwarfed by the Hyatt Hotel and right next to the Madonna of the Trail statue. It's a handsome stone building. Has a few parking spaces in the back. The same people have been working there forever! It's familiar and friendly. What I love most about it (aside from scoring a parking space... a competitive sport at times) is the mural which stretches across the top wall:
Plaque reads: Robert Gates- Artist. Mural preserved for the citizens of Bethesda through the efforts of the Montgomery Farm Woman's Cooperative Market. 1967
It harkens back to simpler times, eh? Next time you need stamps, be sure to check it out.

Really fine work of art. Thanks for posting. Great to see.
Thanks David. I think it's pretty neat, myself.
I can see why you enjoy the mural. Thanks!
Wow! Robert Gates is the former President of Texas A&M University who resigned to become the current Secretary of Defense! I had no idea that he was an artist, too, although somehow I suspect it's a different Robert Gates.
